THE ROYAL DEESIDE TOUR

Edge of the Cairngorm National Park

Every bit as awesome as the Glencoe tour but with its own character and beauty.

Whereas the Glencoe Dawn til Dusk tour features dramatic mountains and moors, Royal Deeside is famous for its deep forests and purple clad mountains enchanting Queen Victoria in the 19th C with its beauty.

Starting in Edinburgh we travel to Pitlochry taking inThe Queen’s View overlooking Loch Tummel named after Queen Victoria who visited the area in 1866.  Then its on to Blair Atholl where we visit The House of Bruar, a famous highland shopping experience for a rest stop.

Driving onwards to Braemar now over the Grampian Mountains travelling through Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands then onto Lochnagar Distillery where we stop for the Distillery Tour.

Next to the distillery is Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s holiday  home in the Highlands where you have some picture opportunities.

We then stop in Braemar, famous for the Highland Games attended every year by the Queen, then climb up to Glenshee before descending to Blairgowrie for another rest stop then travelling through Perth and back to Edinburgh.
